Dave HOCHREIN

Dave started his competitive VB career in 1990 playing on the first Baltimore area Boys club team for Time Out. After High school he started a men’s college club team for Essex Community College in the mid 90’s and spent 4 years coaching U14-U18 girls for Time Out VBC. During his seasons with Time Out, he also head coached varsity teams at Mercy High School, Bryn Mawr, and Roland Park County School while volunteering with the Loyola Greyhounds women’s team where his brother, Dan, also coached. Dave left coaching in ’97 to return to playing indoor men’s Club as a 6’5” middle hitter and continues to play today. He also entered competitive Men’s beach volleyball in 2005 and played 3 seasons on the Toyota Pro Beach Volleyball Tour in Ocean City and Va. Beach.

Having competed against US Olympic gold medalist, Phil Daulhasser on the Toyota Tour, Dave is excited to start a younger level squad for MVA and instill his lifelong love of the game and start the path for others to compete at their highest levels. With his oldest of 3 children starting this year, his VB career comes full circle back to coaching club VB where he started his own career.
